HITS-on-the-Hudson Marks 2015 as the Destination for Horses, Riders and Families

SAUGERTIES, New York (May 07, 2015): New updates are underway at HITS-on-the-Hudson, as HITS prepares for its upcoming Saugerties Spring, Summer and Fall shows. The eight-week series is capped by the Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix CSI-5*, presented by Wells Fargo, on September 6.

HITS is currently paving the roadways near the Gold and Silver Barns, building a new Jumper Ring 1 with top-of the line footing, upgrading its Legend Club VIP to include permanent restrooms, and offering the Paddock Club Mobile Kitchen with covered seating near the hunter rings to serve fresh, healthy fare and keep exhibitors at peak performance!

NEW RING
The new Jumper 1 will be 250 by 300 feet and offer horses and riders rising through the ranks a great opportunity to gain experience showing in a larger ring and to prepare them for competing in the Grand Prix Stadium. The new Jumper 1 also accommodates the ever-growing number of jumper classes HITS offers. The former Jumper 1 ring will become Jumper 2.

ON-SITE CUISINE
For those seeking an exclusive VIP experience, The LEGEND Club overlooks the Grand Prix ring and is open all eight weeks of the Series. Featuring the exceptional cuisine of Culinary Institute of America-trained Executive Chef Giuseppe Napoli, breakfast and lunch is served each show day to VIP patrons on china dishes in a white, free-span tent with a solid surface floor and the best seats on the show grounds. NEW FEI CSI-5* RATING
The Fédération Equestre Internationale earlier this year approved the Saugerties $1 Million Grand Prix, presented by Wells Fargo, as a CSI-5* event. Based on the prize money and the ranking, this event will be the highest-ranked class in the United States this year. The HITS Championship additionally features three other FEI-rated classes, as well as non-FEI classes throughout the week.

STAL HENDRIX PRE-GREEN FUTURITY
The Stal Hendrix Pre-Green Futurity offers young hunters the spotlight during the HITS Championship, September 2-6. The inaugural class offers a guaranteed $25,000 purse, plus add-backs from all nominated horses. Interested competitors are encouraged to nominate their Pre-Green horses early, as the class is expected to draw sizeable entries. Click here for the nomination form.
