The New England Horsemen’s Council (NEHC) has recently announced that it will allow USEF Horse Shows in New York State to offer the NEHC Medals effective May 1, 2018. HITS Saugerties is pleased to announce that it is one of the first horse shows to sign up to offer these classes.

“The New England Medal Finals is a great event and has always been popular for riders in the Northeast,” said Tom Struzzeri, President and CEO of HITS. “We are thrilled that NEHC has opened up their program to shows in New York and are pleased to offer these classes to our customers.”

Under NEHC rules, HITS Saugerties will be able to offer two qualifying classes each week for the NEHC Junior Medal and NEHC Adult Medal.

“We have had many requests from New York riders who wanted to qualify for the NEHC Finals in their home state,” said Joe Dotoli, member of the New England Equitation Championships Committee. “It’s a natural fit for the NEHC to expand to New York to invite and encourage more riders to attend our Finals.”

The New England Equitation Championships were first held 43 years ago, and “now stands as a tribute to what can be accomplished when horsemen and horsewomen work together for the good of the sport. For many years people around the country have referred to the NEEC as the finest regional medal finals in the country,” according the NEEC Website’s History of the Championships.
