Elizabeth Traband and Jennifer Brennan Win $7,500 M&S/Tuff Rider-Equine Couture Children’s and Adult Jumper Classics

Ocala, Florida (January 31, 2015): Riders competed under the lights in the Ocala Horse Properties Stadium last week in the $7,500 Marshall & Sterling/TuffRider-Equine Couture Children’s and Adult Jumper Classics Saturday night at HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala.

Danny Foster of Milton, Ontario, designed the 15 effort course set at 1.10 meters. In the children’s jumper section, six jumped clean and four were clear in the jump-off.

The class was won with in a time of 41.022 seconds by Elizabeth Traband of Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, riding Kaleidoscope LLC’s Stella Cadente. Danny Mahon of Argyle, Texas, riding KW Mahon, Inc.’s Juliet, was second with no faults in 43.114. Lillian Kirbo of Tallahassee, Florida, was third riding her own Jumbo Jet with a clear in 43.475. Cha Cha owned and ridden by Georgina-Lockwood Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio, was fourth with a clear round in 44.807.

Ownership of first-place winner Stella Cadente will be changing to Traband herself thanks to the kindness of owner Paula Frohring. Frohring’s trainer, Elizabeth Solter, who was a very good friend, made arrangements before she passed away to ensure that Stella Cadente, also known as Chichi, would always have a good home. Frohring followed through with her wish and recently transferred ownership to Traband.

Traband said, “I was lucky enough to show Chichi in early 2013 and I just got her back right before Christmas. Chichi will have a home for life.”

Jennifer Brennan of Norristown, Pennsylvania, riding Shannondell Farm’s Spalding, topped the adult section of the $7500 M&S TuffRider-Equine Couture Classic. Out of 32 riders, 14 went clear and moved on to the jump-off.

Brennan went first on her 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood that measures a full 18 hands. Spalding has just recovered from a life-threatening injury in July and is on the comeback trail. They galloped from the start, made the inside turn and made it look easy, stopping the clock at 40.312 seconds, setting the Great American Time to Beat. Brennan said, “With 13 in the jump-off you have to make them chase you.”

Casey Mills of Milton, Georgia, on her own Secret Agent, came the closest with a clear round in 44.603. David Richards of Reddick, Florida, riding La Chunga, was third with a clear round in 46.618, and Renee Gruenthal of Califon, New Jersey, riding Askano rounded out the clear rounds in the jump off with a time of 49.782 for fourth place.
