THERMAL, CA (January 4, 2010)—Entries
for the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, California close on
Wednesday, January 6 for the six week AA-rated hunter/jumper horse show
circuit. Thousands of horses, trainers, riders and owners from around
the country, and the world, will soon make their annual pilgrimage to
the warm California Desert for one of the first major competitions
of the 2010 show season.
Equestrians are taking advantage of the incredible discounted circuit
pricing that HITS is offering in Thermal for both permanent and tented
stabling at the HITS Desert Horse Park. Savings of up to 30% have been
offered and have enabled customers the affordability to show for the
entire six-week circuit.
"I'm glad to see that many of our exhibitors are seizing the
opportunity to show for the entire circuit thanks to the deep discounts
we've offered this year," said Tom Struzzieri, HITS President and CEO.
"Permanent stabling at Thermal remains a very popular choice for our
customers and the circuit pricing has made it possible for trainers to
keep their groups together in the permanent barns instead of dividing
them up as they may have done in the past."
Circuit pricing is not the only big news happening at HITS Thermal this
season. The circuit will also host 16 Qualifying Grand Prix classes for
the historic Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, which will take place in
September in Saugerties, New York. In addition, HITS Thermal also
offers four FEI World Cup Qualifiers during weeks II, III, IV and V,
which is attracting lots of interest from international riders from
Mexico and beyond. For the finale, HITS Thermal will close
out the season with a monstrous $300,000 Grand Prix of the Desert,
presented by Pfizer Animal Health on Sunday, March 14.
HITS Thermal will also offer some exciting new classes for hunters,
including the all new $10,000 Devoucoux Hunter Derby during weeks I,
II, IV, V and VI, which is getting a lot of buzz from trainers and
riders up and down the West Coast. During week III, HITS Thermal will
hold the $10,000 Chronicle of the Horse/USHJA International
Hunter Derby, as well.
