TUCSON, AZ (January 18, 2010) — Entries for the 2010 HITS Arizona Winter Circuit in Tucson, Arizona close on Tuesday, January 19 for the six-week horse show circuit.
Topping the exciting highlights of the season, for the first time ever, the sixth and final week of the circuit will be AA-rated. The new AA-rating will feature increased prize money for nine different hunter divisions, as well as increased prize money offered in the new $5,000 Fast Lane Farms Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic.
HITS Arizona will also be a stop on the “Road to the Pfizer Million” as the circuit will host six Qualifying Grand Prix classes for the historic Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, which will take place on September 12, in Saugerties, New York . All Sunday $25,000 Grand Prix classes at HITS Arizona will be presented by Pfizer Animal Health. EMO will be the Grand Prix title sponsor on February 21, while Strongid® C 2X will be the title sponsor on March 14.
The HITS Arizona Winter Circuit will feature a wide variety of hunter/jumper divisions with classes for every level of rider from short stirrup to high performance. Some of this season's other highlights include a weekly $3,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic, $2,500 Junior/Amateur-Owner and Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper Low Classics, $1,500 Marshall & Sterling Children's/Adult Jumper Classic, $500 Hunter Classics for Children and Adults, and $1,000 Junior Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic.

In order to qualify for the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, a rider must compete in eight HITS Grand Prix classes. The top 40 riders based on money won by horse/rider combination will be eligible to ride for the Pfizer Million.
