Dear
Equine Artist:
The
HITS-on-the-Hudson Horse Shows have returned to Saugerties for the 2009 spring
and summer seasons, bringing thousands of horsemen to the beautiful Hudson
Valley.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in this year’s Equine
Art Exhibition to be held in conjunction with a special Saugerties Sidewalk Stroll on Friday, July 17 at the Muddy Cup Coffee Shop in Saugerties, New York. Replacing last year’s Block Party, the Sidewalk Stroll
will be an evening where HITS competitors and their families will be
encouraged to visit Main and Partition Streets to enjoy activities in
more than two dozen stores and restaurants that will remain open from 6
pm to 10 pm.
Each participating artist will be able to display one or two original
pieces of art during the Equine Art Exhibition and, in addition, each
artist and their work will be featured in an event catalogue produced
especially for the Exhibition. Each artist will be responsible
for providing their own easel, pedestal or other display piece because
there is no provision at the Muddy Cup for hanging art on walls.
The total fee for displaying one or two pieces of artwork is $50.
Participating artists also will have the option of moving their artwork
over to the HITS show grounds to display in the Starbucks Café
for the remainder of the HITS Summer Series (through Sunday, August 2).
Artists interested in participating must complete and submit the 2009 Application Form
with the $50 fee, and supply samples of their work as described in the
Submission Requirements. The deadline for submissions has been extended
to Friday, July 3, 2009.
