SAUGERTIES, NY (December 29, 2008)—
As the start of the winter circuits draws near, HITS is reminding
parents and school-aged riders that on-site educational centers are
available at all three of its winter circuits, including HITS
Thermal, HITS Ocala, and for the first time ever, HITS Tucson.
And, as a special offer in 2009, the School Station in Thermal and the
Education Station in Ocala are offering special discounted rates for
students attending the entire circuit.
At the School Station in Thermal, a student enrolling for the entire
eight-week circuit will only pay for six weeks, so the last
two weeks will be free of charge! Of course, students may enroll
for
individual weeks as well. In addition, qualified students may be
eligible for the School Station’s special Senior/Twelfth Grader
plan with flexible schedules and special pricing. For more information
on the HITS Thermal School Station, visit the HITS website for a
complete informational brochure and enrollment forms. You may also
contact Mary Cunning, school director, at mycunning@msn.com or 802.318.6924.
The Education Station in Ocala offers a Circuit Pricing plan as well,
and has recently discounted that rate even further for
2009. Students enrolling for the entire six weeks of the rated
circuit (February 2 – March 12) will now pay the
same price as 2008. This means students will be getting the sixth
week for free! In addition, students enrolled for the entire
circuit will be able to add additional weeks (during the unrated part
of the circuit) for a discounted price as well. Visit the HITS
website for a complete informational packet and enrollment forms. For
more information please contact Patricia Struzzieri at edstation1@verizon.net or 845.628.8722.
Remember, registrations are still being accepted for ALL of the HITS on-site schools. Visit:

Each of the on-site schools offers a complete academic facility
designed especially for equestrian families. The highest priority
is given to continuing each student's regular school studies. The
education centers at the HITS winter circuits encourage and assist
students in collaborating with the faculty and their home school.
Research indicates that students who continue their schooling at the
circuit will return to their home school well prepared. It is a
unique educational opportunity, with classrooms located on the right on
the show grounds with certified teachers and individualized study
programs for students in kindergarten through college.
“I’m
very much looking forward to the new season,” said Cunning.
"I’m also excited about this year’s programs in Thermal and
Arizona. Each year the program continues to grow and it’s great
to see how the students can thrive in both their riding and education.
That’s not only rewarding for the students, but also for faculty
and me. The School Station's 'Wall of Fame' clearly demonstrates
the abilities of the equestrian riders both in the Horse
Show classes and their academic achievements."
“This educational program is so special,” said Struzzieri.
“It’s great to be able to offer student riders the
opportunity to continue with their studies while they compete,
it’s truly the best of both worlds. I’m glad so many
families take advantage of the opportunity and I look forward to this
season!”
