SAUGERTIES, NY (October 22, 2009)—HITS,
Inc. is pleased to announce that the search for equine artists to
design the cover artwork for its 2010 Official Show Programs for the
Thermal and Ocala Winter Circuits is underway.
Each year, HITS creates a distinct show program for the HITS Desert
Circuit, which takes place in Thermal, California and the HITS Ocala
Winter Circuit, which takes place in Ocala, Florida. The Official
Show Programs are distributed to all HITS exhibitors and feature custom
editorial content geared toward exhibitors, sponsors and spectators for
each venue.
As always, HITS is
seeking a dynamic image to feature on the cover of the programs. One
image will be selected for the Thermal program and another for the
Ocala program. The full-color annual programs are produced as
perfect-bound glossy A-sized publications and feature sponsor
advertising, as well as paid local and regional advertising.
Editorial content slated for this year's programs will include great features like Sponsors Who Ride, Pfizer Animal Health Corner, Riders to Watch in 2010, Special Championship Winners and On the Road to the $1 Million USGPL Grand Prix, just to name a few. Regional
content will also be featured directing HITS exhibitors to restaurants,
hotels, shopping and fun things to do in the areas surrounding the
horse shows.
"Our goal is to
produce a quality product that will not only serve as a functional
publication, but also a keepsake of this year's shows," said Leslie
Phillips, HITS Art Director and Production Manager. "Over the years we
have received tons of beautiful artwork to chose from, which makes my
job a bit more difficult, but it's well worth the time and effort to
get a beautiful cover. It's always exciting to see the range of work
that gets submitted and working with the artists is something we really
enjoy."
Phillips
went on to say that subject matter is not limited to hunter/jumper
discipline only and that submissions can be portfolio pieces, meaning
the artists do not have to work from scratch. "We try to select pieces
that convey the look and feel of each venue with some element that says
'Ocala' or 'Thermal'," continued Phillips.
Requirements for artwork submissions is as follows:
- Final Trim Size: 8.5" x 11" and should account for bleed
- Full Color
- HITS venue background preferred
- Finished artwork must be submitted electronically at high resolution for print quality
- Deadline for submissions: Friday, December 4, 2009
Equine Artists interested in submitting artwork for consideration for the 2010 HITS Thermal and Ocala Official Horse Show Program covers should contact Leslie Phillips by e-mail Leslie@HitsShows.com.
The 2010 HITS Desert
Circuit in Thermal, California will feature six weeks of AA-rated

The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit will feature eight weeks of shows,
including six AA-rated weeks of competition and will run from
Wednesday, January 20 to Sunday, March 21 when the $100,000 DeLuca
Toyota Tundra Grand Prix of Ocala, presented by Great American
