The Marshall & Sterling League Finals are right around the corner, so it's time to check your standings!
The 2007 Finals will be held September 13-16 at HITS' state-of-the-art equestrian facility in Saugerties, New York. With more than $30,000 in prize money, perpetual trophies and awards, this is not an event to miss.
The Finals will feature the following divisions and classes:
• $2,000 Adequan Open Hunter Division (20 competitors)
• $4,000 Children's Hunter Pony Division (30 competitors)
• $4,000 Children's Hunter Division (30 competitors)
• $4,000 Farnam Adult Hunter Division (60 competitors)
• $10,000 Children's Jumper Division (40 competitors)
• $10,000 Adult Jumper Division (40 competitors)
• M&S Children's Horse Medal Final (60 competitors)
• M&S Children's Pony Medal Final (30 competitors)
• M&S Adult Medal Final (50 competitors)
• M&S Junior Medal Final (75 competitors)
Tavern on the Green, one of New York City's most famous and prestigious restaurants, will once again bring their special magic to Friday night's annual Awards Ceremony dinner with a feast fit for the League's top competitors!
Dinner will be followed by the presentation of the Essex Classics "Top 10" awards and the League's perpetual trophies.
Then its time for the League's best of the best, their family and friends to kick back and enjoy a very special performance by singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega! The Eighties' alternative rocker, whose career spans three decades, saw her debut album in 1984 well received in both the US and UK. Her second album in 1987 included two hit singles: "Tom's Diner", and "Luka", which was an international success. Vega's acoustic guitar has continued to be a focus of her sound, as her music has shifted from pop to folk to eclectic mixes, and always features her almost poetic lyrics. Her seventh studio album, "Beauty and Crime," will be released this month.
