Award-winning artist, JoAnne Sullam, will appear at HITS-on-the-Hudson for the remainder of the Spring Circuit in Saugerties, New York

 

SAUGERTIES, NY (June 7, 2007)— Equus Entries, jeweler to equestrians for the past 25 years, has returned to the HITS horse show in Saugerties, New York and will be featuring the works of artist and sculptor JoAnne Sullam of Saugerties. Visitors to the HITS horse shows now through June 17 will have an opportunity to meet the artist in person at the Equus Entries vendor store on the show grounds. Special receptions to honor the artist will be held onsite June 15 and 16 at at the Equus Entries vendor store.

Sullam will demonstrate the sculpture techniques that she uses to produce her bronze equine sculptures, including "lost wax" and clay modeling, and will be working on one or more current paintings. Her original paintings and sculptures will be on display and she also will be available to discuss pet and equestrian portraits and wildlife art.

Sullam is an award-winning artist whose work has been featured in the New York Times. Polo Players' Edition magazine included her in their list of "Best in Sporting Art." Sullam's paintings and Sculptures have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and cultural centers, including The Brookgreen Sculpture Gardens in Pawleys Island, South Carolina; The Woodstock Artists Museum in Woodstock, New York; and The Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, New York.

Show jumping at HITS Saugerties continues this Wednesday and culminates on Sunday with the $75,000 HITS Grand Prix.Two consecutive weeks of shows are on tap through June 17. The $22,500 Children's/Adult Championship and the $40,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Championship will close out the spring shows during Week III at HITS Saugerties. After that, HITS Saugerties takes a five-week hiatus before returning on July 25 for three more weeks of world-class show jumping. The series concludes with one final week of show jumping beginning on September 5, followed by the Marshall & Sterling League Finals, September 13-16 when acclaimed singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega will be on hand for the Year-End High Point Awards Celebration.
