Three Students from Karen Healey Stables Win Top Awards at HITS Indio Desert Circuit

Indio, CA (March 21, 2006)--Three students from Karen Healey Stables shone the brightest at the HITS Indio Desert Circuit to sweep up the top awards at the close of the six-week circuit.

Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA was given the SHALANNO Style of Riding Award. The SHALANNO Style of Riding Award Perpetual Trophy is presented to the Junior Jumper rider who best exemplifies the American style of equitation as modeled by Olympic medalists Joe Fargis, Conrad Homfeld, and George Morris. The award recipient must have the respectful, dignified, courteous and workmanlike manner of a true sportsman.

Hannah Selleck's impressive performance both in competition and warm-up as observed by the jumper judges as well as by horse show personnel (jumper ring in-gate, steward, and announcer) set her apart as the most deserving recipient of the SHALANNO Style of Riding Award.

The Pony Hunter, Macy Grey, ridden by Lucy Davis of Los Angeles, CA and owned by Carlye Byron-Nelson of Burbank, CA was awarded the Hillcrest Pot O' Gold High-Point Pony Award Perpetual Trophy. This award is in honor of the memory of the famous show pony Hillcrest Pot O' Gold, owned and loved by the Kohan Family. The Kohans created this new award to further the appreciation of show ponies. This year's winner, Macy Grey, piloted by Lucy Davis amassed the greatest number of points during the HITS Indio Desert Circuit to receive the coveted award.

Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano, CA, was given the Potcreek Meadow Farm Junior Sportsman Award. Veronica epitomizes the true spirit of sportsmanship and was a clear choice for the award. "Everyone who knows Veronica says
she is unendingly cheerful and good spirited. Even when she has a bad round, she hugs her horse and pats it and smiles," said Cara Anthony, owner of Potcreek Meadow Farm.

HITS congratulates this year's award winners from Karen Healey Stables, and is proud to be involved in recognizing the recipients' hard work and talent.

"We had three very deserving winners this year," said John Eickman, National Marketing Director, HITS. "It is such a pleasure to be able to reward such committed junior riders on behalf of our sponsors, Shalanno Farms, The Kohan Family, and Potcreek Meadow Farm."
