SAUGERTIES, NY (June
4, 2006)-Mother nature didn't get the memo about
Kids Day on Saturday, June 3rd,
as
a rainy afternoon forced HITS to cancel most of
the children's activities, including the ever-popular
pony rides and bounce house.
So, HITS will bring
fun and games back to the world-class equestrian
facility in Saugerties, NY. On Saturday, August
5, from 10 AM-2 PM kids of all ages and their
parents are invited to enjoy a host of family
fun and activities once again. But this time we'll
hope for some sun.
Most activities will
take place under tent cover. The Kids Day tent
will be situated on a berm overlooking the Grand
Prix arena. Kids can find fun things ranging from
flowerpot painting to a pet adoption.
Children are encouraged
to watch the show jumping classes, which start
at 8 AM and go to 5 PM. With ten rings to visit,
there are lots to see and do for the entire day.
Outdoor events include pony rides provided by
Southland in Rhinebeck, NY, a bounce house and
a martial arts demonstration.
Shoppers can stroll
along Vendors Row, which houses 10 vendor boutiques
offering a variety of equine-themed merchandise,
clothing, jewelry and much more. A complete menu
of meals, snacks, and beverages can be enjoyed
at the HITS Saugerties restaurant and dining courtyard,
which provides patio seating as well as an enclosed
dining area.
Admission is $5 for
adults, which is donated to Family of Woodstock,
Inc. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
Parking for spectators is located at gate E, which
is directly across from the Kiwanis Ice Rink and
is always free.
