Saugerties, NY
(September 18, 2006)—All
Marshall & Sterling League Finalists and their
guests didn't have to travel to New York City
to experience one of the most famous restaurants
in the city as Tavern
on the Green brought a piece of New York City
to HITS Saugerties for the Marshall
& Sterling League Finals Awards Dinner
presented by Delta Hoof Care that took place on
September 15.
Tavern
on the Green Catering dazzled the party with
a menu that included hot hors d'oeuvres, cold
canapés, a farmers market table, Mediterranean
and Asian buffet stations and fabulous desserts.
Tavern on the Green is located in Manhattan's
Central Park. Celebrations at Tavern on the Green
dazzle the senses. With their enchanting gardens,
tenting capabilities and expandable interiors,
Tavern on the Green makes each event truly memorable,
be it a corporate function, garden party, bar/bat
mitzvah, bridal shower or storybook wedding. Restaurant
President and CEO Jenny Oz LeRoy recently moved
her horses to Saugerties and has been showing
at HITS throughout the summer. “HITS and Delta
Hoof Care products have the ability to greatly
influence the horse community,” said LeRoy. “With
this partnership we have the ability to influence
people who put the health of their horse and rider
first.”
"Tavern on the
Green was proud to be a part of such a prestigious
event like the Marshall & Sterling League
Finals," said LeRoy. "Previously, Tavern
on the Green has sponsored the High Junior Classic,
but this was a much bigger and more exciting sponsorship.”
After dinner, guests
got a chance to kick back and listen to the Wailers
rock the house. The Wailers now consist of original
band members who recorded and/or toured with Bob
Marley and the Wailers. But before the Wailers
took the stage, the 2006 Year-End High-Point Awards
were presented to the top ten finishers in each
division.
Riders from the East
to West Coasts compete at Marshall & Sterling
League member horse shows to earn points for a
place at the Finals. Since its inception in 1991,
The Marshall & Sterling League Finals have provided
a goal that has fueled the competitive spirit
of child and adult riders at all levels of competition.
In 2006, riders accumulated points at more than
700 member horse shows throughout the year to
qualify for a place at the Finals. The Friday
night Year-end High-Point Awards Dinner held at
HITS Saugerties recognized the top ten riders
based on national point standings in each division.
Award recipients represented the most dedicated
and determined Marshall & Sterling League members,
and the night paid honor to their achievements.
"Thousands of riders
join the Marshall & Sterling League each year
with the goal of competing at the Finals," said
HITS President Tom Struzzieri. "Our finalists
work hard to qualify, and we are dedicated to
producing a prestigious event that acknowledges
and rewards their talents."
