The scoop on HITS Culpeper
The recent buzz surrounding HITS Culpeper is all about the complete makeover to Commonwealth Park. From new stabling to upgraded RV hook-ups, HITS Culpeper has a new and improved look for this year’s spring, summer and fall circuits.

"2014 is looking like a break-out year for HITS Culpeper," said HITS president and CEO Tom Struzzieri. "This season will rival the fervor that was created in the mid 1980’s when Commonwealth Park was last remodeled. I am personally excited about the opportunity to have events in Virginia that match what HITS does around the country."

Highlighting the renovations, five new MD BarnMaster barns were erected with 520 state-of-the-art permanent stalls. Additional improvements to the stabling area include new wash racks, newly wired electrical service, and new manure bins. Roads and aisles have been graded to improve drainage, and the entire flow of traffic, both equine and vehicular, has been streamlined.

The RV parking area has been completely relocated to the tree-lined area behind the lunging pad. While aesthetically pleasing, this area has been groomed and graded, and will accommodate 60 RV’s with ample space and electrical hookups.

Footing in the Hunter rings, schooling areas and Jumper 1 has been upgraded, and the footing in many other rings has been replaced to match that of the Grand Prix Ring.

To match the new look, HITS Culpeper has also added new class offerings, including the USHJA Children's/Adult Amateur Jumper South Regional Championships August 22-24, and will continue to host the USHJA Zone III Junior Equitation Finals during the Winston National.

The Culpeper Finals will close out the circuit with a bang and feature a $10,000 Pre-Green Hunter Classic, $10,000 Pyranha Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Low Classic and a $15,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic.

HITS Culpeper will also offer junior, amateur and professional riders in the hunter and grand prix rings the opportunity to be part of the HITS Championship in Saugerties, New York in September 2014. Weekly schedules will be highlighted by qualifiers for the Platinum Performance $250,000 Hunter Prix Final, Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final, all-new Bayer’s Legend® (hyaluronate sodium) Injectable Solution $250,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Prix and the celebrated Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix.
