HITS-tory:
Held at the Pima County Fair Grounds in the heart of the Arizona desert, the six-week Arizona Winter Circuit has been a staple of West Coast circuits for many years. HITS took over production of this circuit in 1991. Competitors gain valuable experience in the show ring under the eye of some of the country's top judges. When the facility is set up for the HITS shows, there are five show rings and multiple schooling rings for hunter, jumper and equitation classes. Classes offered range from Grand Prix show jumping classes to a selection of divisions for both the novice and experienced rider. In all, HITS Arizona offers six Grand Prix events worth $150,000 in prize money.

In 2008, more than 750 horses, 1,800 horsemen and 2,500 spectators attended HITS Arizona and more than $300,000 in prize money was awarded.

The economic impact of the HITS Arizona Winter Circuit on the surrounding community is estimated at $15 million, which reflects spending on food, lodging, living expenses and entertainment in the area during the six-week circuit.
